Are you a big fan of Minecraft? In case you are then you want to play it around the clock. However, some of us prefer to do a whole lot more in the sandbox variant of the game and push beyond the limits which the game designates. For a few handful of us who crave more than the usual, we want more skins, better maps, great mods, servers to play, texture packs, data packs, tutorials and more.

It’s why there are many platforms that have emerged on the Internet providing Minecraft players the liberty to add all of these elements and do a lot more. Planet Minecraft is one such environment.

Not only does Planet Minecraft have an engaging blog to captivate the audience’s attention, but the platform goes beyond. It offers a powerful engaging blog to keep you well informed on how things are done. You will find a Skin section which offers all the interesting new skins for MC fans. The Projects section allows you to handle all the important projects so you can have fun. Texture packs give you a blasting new look in Minecraft, a new crafting table, and a lot of other great options.

But is Planet Minecraft a great platform for MC lovers out there? Here’s what we have learned.

A Few Days Ago…

A few days ago I was researching the best modding websites for MC on the Internet and came across a discussion forum on the Internet. I grasped quite the information from people’s discussion… and what I learned, I would like to share it with my audience.

As much as Planet Minecraft is liked by millions of MC players around the world, it has setbacks.

The Website Design

According to a user, the website isn’t as attractive or engaging as it is expected to be. Not only the website offers poor performance, but well according to some users, the website is downright ugly. Although, the website is designed in order to cater the younger generation user base, so they can have plenty of space to tweak around, it sure has a bad ranking system. Poor skins and bad server voting has just added to the entire poor design tenfolds. In short, what the user said from the site’s design perspective was that the website is specifically designed for kids. There are interesting skins but the skins will only appeal to the younger generation.

The Scummy Server Voting

As far as the voting is concerned, it has a bad salesperson voting method. Just take the Skins section for instance. A lot of teens are selling their stuff online and have a great deal of skins which shows lack of creativity and perspective. And because some of these skins are voted above the rest, these skins get more traction bringing the poor quality work up and the good stuff way down in the list.

At the end of the day, the community is run by bad voters/voter abuses rather than individuals who care to run websites based on community feedback. On MC, we also have the Projects section which is sort of better than the rest. You will find a lot of eye candy there but it isn’t all that satisfactory.

You Easily Get Banned on the Site

Certain group of users believed that bots will do much better on moderating the site’s content as the current moderators operating the website are very poorly managing it. If you get a ban, the moderators don’t provide you a reason as per why you got banned from the website.

According to a user, he got banned just because of a comment,

“That’s not an original mod. It’s an ore mod.”

To me, this is indeed quite the abuse of power. It feels like the moderators working on the Planet Minecraft are so uptight, that they don’t even allow people to express their own views.

What if somebody exclaims on a mod for creating minecraft golden apple or rechanging the skin or design for the minecraft anvil and just because they hold an opinion, it’s not justified to ban them.

Many People Don’t Post Proper Images

Another problem that we encountered while using planet minecraft is that individuals don’t post proper images on the website. Poor quality images can often mislead the users and as a result, poor quality work often gets greater traction while better quality work does not. According to one of the users, when he posted a project on planet minecraft, he got somewhat around 3 comments and only 150 views whereas when he posted the same project on some other MC mod platform, his build reached the first page and received almost 10,000 views.

If you are planning to share your work, then planet minecraft is not quite the place to share.

Lastly, Concerns of Downtime

Many people have complained that the website experiences a downtime where the server keeps crashing. It’s one of the reasons why its fan base has simply distanced themselves from the platform.

What are Better Alternatives to Planet Minecraft?

If you are searching for some good minecraft skins or interesting minecraft forums, then my recommendation is that you should definitely go for CurseForge and Minecraft Schematics. These are some great websites with incredible mods which provides you the best stuff to mod your Minecraft.

Go ahead, check out the above discussed platform and share with us your experience.
